About
The Department of Respiratory Medicine deals with diseases related to the lungs and other organs associated with the function of breathing. Our department attracts patients with complex problems from all parts of the country and has a strong clinical base with an emphasis on bedside teaching and learning.
Laboratory support is provided by state-of-the-art pulmonary function, exercise physiology, and sleep labs. The department also boasts full-fledged bronchoscopy and medical thoracoscopy services. Multidisciplinary teams, in collaboration with the departments of Interstitial Lung Disease, Thoracic Oncology & Radiology, exist to provide comprehensive care.
We are supported by a proficient thoracic surgery service from the Department of Cardiothoracic-Vascular Surgery, ensuring integrated and holistic patient management.
Since starting the MD Radio-Diagnosis course in 2019 with an intake of 4 students per year, we have been committed to training MBBS students in radiology as per the latest MCI teaching modules, providing them with requisite exposure in USG, CT, and MRI.
Our department actively engages in research work, publishing in nationally and internationally reputed journals. We expose our faculty and residents to various Continuing Medical Education (CME) programs across the country and organize conferences and training programs within the institute. As a department, we are growing rapidly, striving to keep pace with the ever-evolving field of radiology.
