“WORLD AIDS DAY” (1st. December, 2023)
ART CMCH BHOPAL organised an awareness programme on the occasion of “WORLD AIDS DAY” (1st December, 2023), wherein an educational campaign was conducted with leaflet distribution. Poster competition and prize distribution at institutional level, group discussions and interactions, Q&A sessions (for nursing staff, technicians, staff members and students of various streams from Chirayu University) and CME on HIV-AIDS were the main highlights of the event. Simultaneously Department of Community Medicine conducted various awareness events at RHTC with active community participation. Inauguration of event with lamp lighting and sarswati vandana by CMD Dr. Ajay Goenka, Dean Dr. Manohar Bende, Medical Director Dr. Ashutosh Mangalgiri, Medical Suprintendent Dr. Ulka Shrivastav, Deputy director (MPSACS) Dr. Ankita Patil and Technical officer from Vihaan Mrs. Rashmi Setu. Valuable insights & clinical experience with elaborate words of knowledge on HIV-AIDS by CMD Dr. Goenka. ART nodal officer Dr.Rochit Singhal and more than 200 doctors, and medical & paramedical staff and students were present in the event. Furthermore, a CME-cum-sensitization was also organised in keeping with the theme “LET COMMUNITIES LEAD”. Dr. Ankita Patil, Deputy Director of MPSACS, shared her valuable insights and expertise on structure and implementation of National AIDS Control Program, its’ goals to reduce annual new HIV infection, AIDS related mortality and to promote universal access to quality STI/RTI services with special emphasis on role of MPSACS in controlling HIV/AIDS in the mentioned nationwide strategy. It was followed by a very enriching and innovative talk by Mrs. Rashmi Setu, technical officer from VIHAAN, who focussed on social stigma and discrimination related to PLHIV, myths about HIV and crucial role of patient counselling in ICTC and ART centre. Also PLHIV interacted and shared valuable experiences to raise awareness. The event was wrapped up with a discussion about universal precautions for prevention of HIV and post exposure prophylactic regimen and a vote of thanks.
